STK Build-Out Has Begun

Upscale eatery in works for 12th & Midtown, official confirms.

Good news for Midtown carnivores: A long-awaited and fashionable steakhouse slated for the corner of 12th and Peachtree streets is nudging toward reality.

Construction has begun on STK, “a female-friendly steakhouse with a high-energy dining experience” that’s generated curiosity from Atlanta foodies for nearly a year, said Devon Mosley, national marketing director for The One Group, a parent company.

Mosley said it’s too early in the construction process to give a firm opening date, but he called news that the build-out has begun “very true.”

“We are beginning our work on the Atlanta location, but I wouldn’t want to put a stamp on a completion date just yet,” Mosley said.

STK will occupy 12,000 square feet on two levels at the foot of an office tower in the 12th & Midtown development, located at 1075 Peachtree St.

The steakhouse currently operates in Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas and New York, said Mosley.

The 12th & Midtown project, touted as a cornerstone of the Midtown Mile shopping district, includes the 1010 Midtown condo tower and the upscale Loews hotel. Other restaurants in the mixed-use development include , and Piola restaurant.

Selig Enterprises Inc., developer for 12th & Midtown, announced STK as a tenant in February last year, calling it a magnet for A-list celebrities in New York and Los Angeles.

“The steaks come in three different sizes, a la carte, and are dressed with one of eight rich, homemade sauces – you get to choose the sauce,” Selig officials said in a press release.

The steakhouse’s flagship opened in 2006 in New York’s meatpacking district, according to The One Group.
