Residents-Only Parking in Inman Park Goes Back Into Effect

INMAN PARK — PARKatlanta, everyone's favorite city enforcement authority, will begin enforcing residents-only parking in the neighborhood beginning Jan. 18.

The affected are Cleburne, Seminole, Sinclair and Colquitt avenues, as well as portions of Austin and Elizabeth avenues.

The enforcement times are Thursday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The measure is an update and a compromise to previous rules on most of those streets, where enforcement was previously 24 hours and seven days a week.

The main complaint has been that patrons to the Little Five Points district in weekend nights would squeeze residents out of available spots.

That was especially true for Colquitt Avenue, a new addition to the list.

Homeowners, many of whom don't have off-street parking, complained of having to park blocks away from their homes.

Others who have driveways reported that patrons of Little Five Points businesses would simply park in their driveways while shopping — even blocking the homeowner's own vehicle in some cases.
