Kaboodle Home Store Takes Over Traders Space

Home furnishings store features local artisans.

Kaboodle Home Store, is replacing East Atlanta Village's Traders Neighborhood Store, which closed earlier this summer.

Kaboodle, which will feature locally-made products from Atlanta-based artists and furniture makers.

Kaboodle's owner, Michael Knight, was one of the owners of Traders, which had been a destination retailer and anchor business of the Village for some 15 years.

Its closure follows the closure of Area, a sister store to Traders that Knight and his then-business partner, Shawn Ergle, opened in 2004 in the Edgewood Retail District.

Area closed in 2009 as consumers pulled back on spending in the Great Recession.
