'Jobs Bus' to visit the Villages of East Lake

The DeKalb County Mobile Career Center is making multiple stops throughout the county.

Residents of East Atlanta Patch communities who are in DeKalb County and are looking for work can visit the this month.

Here are some places the bus will stop in the area.

  • Thursday, May 9. Villages of East Lake at 460 East Lake Blvd. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 15. The Department of Family and Children Services at 178 Sams St. in Decatur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 23. The Covington Library at 3500 Covington Highway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Major features of the resource center include 13 computer stations; a private interview area; high-speed satellite Internet connection; printer, scanner and copy services; and a fully accessible ADA workstation with movable table and auxiliary.

Businesses will be able to use the mobile unit for recruiting, pre-employment screenings, interviewing, and training.

The mobile unit will also provide residents with essential services including job search assistance, adult workshops and training, résumé writing and interviewing tips.
