Urban Cannibals Local Food Trunk Show + 2nd Anniversary Party

URBAN CANNIBALS BODEGA + BITES CELEBRATES 2nd ANNIVERSARY WITH LOCAL FOOD TRUNK SHOW

Owners Chef Calavino Donati and Singer/Songwriter Doria Roberts will celebrate the two year anniversary of their neighborhood deli + general store Urban Cannibals Bodega + Bites located in the East Atlanta Village with a two day party that includes a complimentary customer appreciation spread of their housemade treats and an inaugural “Local Food Trunk Show”.

The trunk show will feature products the couple sells on the shelves of the store along with a few special guests. “Last year we had a lot of customers coming in looking for last minute gifts to give and we wound up putting together local food gift baskets on the fly because that’s all we had but it was a hit. We figured we’d be more prepared this year and have our vendors come in to sell “gift-able” versions of their products. And, local food gifts are more personal and very practical. Not only are you supporting your local economy, but you’re also are giving someone something unique that’s not going to wind up in the trash or stuffed in a box a year from now.”

Some of the vendors include Athens based Phickles Pickles and 1,000 Faces Coffee along with locally based artisanal companies like Sugar Coated Radical Chocolates, Just Add Honey Tea Co., Emily G’s Jams of Love, Sweet Georgia Grains Granola, Hidden Springs Farms Honey, Logan Turnpike Grits and more.

“We also invited Ice Milk Aprons and Mama Soaps + Body products and will have autographed copies of cookbooks from local celeb chefs Virginia Willis and Hugh Acheson to round out the gift giving choices.”

Customers will be able to purchase Urban Cannibals gift certificates, customized and bundled gift bags as well as “bread of the week” gift cards for H+F Bread Co., which was cited as one of the top ten bakeries in the country by Bon Appetit magazine and is the bread Urban Cannibals uses exclusively for its sandwiches.

For socially conscious gift givers, Urban Cannibals will be hosting a canned food drive and offering customers an opportunity to buy weekly organic vegetable boxes for families in need in the East Atlanta Village.

“We’re just really excited to still be here and going strong in this economy. Our immediate community, our customers and our local food vendors are naturally a big part of our success so far so we just wanted to say “Thank You” for sticking it out with us.”
