Changes Coming to Irwin Street Market

New outdoor patio and new food offerings in the line-up.

OLD FOURTH WARD — The Irwin Street Market, home to Jake's Ice Cream, the Funky Monkey and Hilda's is getting makeover.

The market, located at 660 Irwin St., is undergoing the facelift as the recently-opened Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail has been a popular draw.

Plans call for a patio with seating for 60, Jake's owner Jake Rothschild told Atlanta Magazine. The patio, which will open up to the BeltLine, is expected to open next month.

The changes at Irwmin Street Market come as the BeltLine has become a draw for a number of business developments.

Curbed Atlanta noted that the trail has four apartment developments in the works and existing businesses that touch the BeltLine have spruced up their exteriors to be more inviting to customers.
