Best Of Winner: Buffie The Tax Heiress

When it comes to slaying your taxes, there's no one else.

In this week's Readers' Choice Poll, we asked where could one go to get the best last-minute tax preparation help.

Readers chose Buffie The Tax Heiress as the best, giving her 81 percent of the votes cast.

"I think it's great!"  Buffie Purselle — AKA the Tax Heiress — told East Atlanta Patch. "We do our best to make the tax preparation process as stress free as possible so to learn that your readers think that we are the best for last-minute tax prep — typically a very stressful time — is very exciting!"

Purselle, a Valdosta native, has called Atlanta home for 15 years — the last six of which have been in Candler Park.

A 13-year veteran of the accounting field, profit and loss statements and balance sheets are in her blood.

"I am a third-generation tax accountant," she said. "My grandmother and mother are both accountants and work in the family business."

With the April 17 tax deadline rapidly approaching, we asked Purselle what the biggest mistake is that folks make in filing.

"Trying to file on their own," she said jokingly. "Tax software can only do so much. Junk in equals junk out. You should really trust a tax professional to assist you in filing your taxes.”
