AT&T Launches Anti-Spam Text Initiative

Text junk mail a growing problem.

AT&T, in an effort to curb unwanted text spam messages its customers receive on their mobile phones, has created a code they can use to report them.

Unwanted messages like sweepstakes entries or giveaways can be sent to 7726 or SPAM for free.

The company, which has an information and tips sheet to reduce unsolicited spam texts, will block numbers that are sending these messages.

Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile already have similar anti-spamming initiatives.
