280 Elizabeth St. Development Construction Update

When complete, the Inman Park Village project will have 201 rental apartments and 39,000 square feet of retail space, which includes 19,000 square feet designated for restaurants.

INMAN PARK — Construction is underway on the $45 million residential and retail complex project, 280 Elizabeth St.

The mixed-use development, bounded by Elizabeth Street, North Highland and Lake avenues and the Inman Park Village project, is projected to be complete by the third quarter of 2014.

When complete, the project will have 201 rental apartments and 39,000 square feet of retail space, which includes 19,000 square feet designated for restaurants. It also will have swimming pool and a 570-space parking deck.

Atlanta-based developers South City Partners and JPX Works LLC are partnering on the project that will rest on a 3.4-acre lot that formally was home to several Inman Park favorites such as Dad's Garage theatre group and Victory Sandwich Bar.

Dad’s Garage has temporarily relocated to nearby 7 Stages in Little Five Points and is currently producing the “horrifically gory, hilariously funny, action packed" musical, “Song of the Living Dead.” See pics here of Dad's "Bringing Down the House Party" prior to its vacating its former home.

Victory Sandwich Bar will be moving to nearby 913 Bernina Avenue in late 2013. Until then, you can still experience its beloved deliciousness at Victory and Paper Plane at 340 Church Street in Decatur.

It too had explosive closing this summer and see here for pics of Victory's exit.
