On Monday, Aug. 12, McNair High School at 1804 Bouldercrest Road SE, reopens to its students, as do schools across the DeKalb County and Fulton County to thousands of kids.
In DeKalb, about 99,000 students will be filling classrooms and 13,400 employees return for another school year.
This year, of course, aims to temper the air of drama and suspense that led to Gov. Nathan Deal scrapping members of the DeKalb County School Board last year.
The district seeks to leave the spotlight of scandal that first hit Clayton County Schools a few years ago, then Atlanta Public Schools and now DeKalb.
The school district, as well as Fulton County schools, joins APS, which opened Aug. 7 and Decatur City Schools Aug. 1.
