Youth Poetry Slam: Voices from the Mountaintop

The King Center will host some of Atlanta's youngest poets contributing their voices to the message and continuing relevance of Dr. King's work.

This is a competitive poetry competition for youth ages 14-19 years old featuring participants primarily from the Atlanta Public Schools and surrounding Metro areas.

All poets signed up in the Freedom Hall Auditorium of the King Center by 3:00pm will have an opportunity to compete in the first round.

Sign up for the slam begins at 2:30pm.

Scores will be calculated using official Poetry Slam guidelines.

Participants have an opportunity to represent Atlanta in the 2011 Brave New Voices Competition in San Francisco, CA, and donations for aiding the slam team in going to this event will be accepted.
