Film Screening: Hearing Her Story

In recognition of Women’s History Month, and in collaboration with Emory University Center for Creativity and Arts, the Auburn Avenue Research Library will screen Hearing Herstory, a documentary film project directed by AnneMarie Mingo.  The film draws on the oral histories of women from Big Bethel A.M.E. Church and Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta; First A.M.E. Bethel Church and Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, who were involved in the Civil Rights Movement.  History will be experienced as herstory as the women discuss their faith, courage, and hope in their fight for freedom.
