27th Annual Sunbelt Jazz Festival

The UWG Jazz Ensemble hosts Los Angeles jazz trombonist Bob McChesney on Friday, April 20th at 7:30pm at the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts.

McChesney can be heard on CDs with everyone from Ray Charles and Rod Stewart to Natalie Cole and Diana Krall.

His television credits range from "The Simpsons" to "Futurama" while his film credits meander from "Mystic River" to "Space Jam." McChesney’s collaboration with legendary comedian Steve Allen produced No Laughing Matter. In his review, Tom Smith says it all: "There are times when hearing him is like hearing the trombone played for the first time."
