Author Junot Díaz coming to Carter Center Sept. 21

After his stunning 1997 short story collection Drown, springboarded him into international prominence, Junot Díaz delivered on that early promise in 2008 with his novel, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. Now, Diaz returns to the short story in his third book, This Is How You Lose Her. In his latest collection, released on Sept. 11, 2012 Díaz turns his remarkable talent to the haunting, impossible power of love -obsessive love, illicit love, fading love, maternal love.

On Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. Diaz reads from, discusses and signs copies of This is How You Lose Her at the Carter Center, 441 Freedom Parkway in Poncey-Highland.

Tickets are required for admission to the event. They are available at the bookstore sponsoring Diaz's appearance, s, 208 Haralson Ave. (at the corner of DeKalb Avenue) in Inman Park. Tickets are also available online at acappellabooks.com.

Individual tickets are $29 and include a signed, first edition copy of the new book. Couples' tickets are $40 and also include one signed, first edition copy of the book, and admission for two. If the event is not sold out in advance, tickets will also be available at the door at the Carter Center beginning at 6 p.m. the night of the event.
