Want To Make Your Neighbors Green With Envy?

East Atlanta Village is known for its hipster scrappiness.

But the Village's chief booster group, the East Atlanta Community Association, wants to showcase residents' green thumbs.

So EACA has started the East Atlanta Yard of the Month competition.

The goal is to give residents recognition to those homeowners who go all out in their landscaping.

EACA's Beautification Committee is accepting yard nominations by the homeowners, friends, neighbors or landscapers.

 What will make for a standout garden?

Judges will be scoping for winners that are pleasing to the eye and purposeful with a mix of plants, flowers and shrubs.

Yards have to be within East Atlanta Village's boundaries (see map) and will be judged from what can be seen from the street.
