Volunteers Needed for Zoo Atlanta's Party for the Planet

Give back to the East Atlanta community with these volunteer opportunities.

Zoo Atlanta

Volunteer Need:
Volunteers assist with crafts; working at our vendor tables and helping our marvelous costume characters find their way around the zoo. Must be a group of volunteers of minimum of five volunteers and a maximum of 20 volunteers.

When: The event is Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers can sign up to help from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or noon to 4 p.m. Volunteers may stay and enjoy the zoo after their volunteer shift is completed.

Family Activity Days Volunteer

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Volunteer Need:

  • Provide customer service to Museum guests
  • Provide general event support as needed and based on each event
  • Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting with crafts (cutting, coloring, pasting), assisting with games, escorting mascots
  • Assist with event set-up and break-down as needed
  • Other duties to be determined based on each event

How Often: Dates and times vary. For family activity days (such as Dinosaur Egg Hunt and Superhero Day), times will run 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Additional weekend support will be needed on non-activity days.

 

Blood Drive Volunteer

American Red Cross Blood Services-Atlanta

Volunteer Need:
Registration Volunteers warmly welcome, sign-in donors and manage donor flow. Registration volunteers often have the greatest impact on donors because they are the first and last to meet and greet them.

Canteen Volunteers are vital to our donor's overall donation experience. Canteen volunteers monitor donors for reaction signs: notifying the staff immediately if signs of a reaction are observed, serve refreshments and encourage them to donate again.

How Often: at least six month-commitment, covering two blood drives per month

 

Social Justice Volunteers

The Ben Marion Institute for Social Justice, Inc.

Volunteer Need: day to day office operations,filing, program and workshop preparation, web research and data base input and any other wisdom and interests and skills you are willing to share with a very committed, passionate group of folks in a warm and fun loving, people caring office environment.

How Often: flexible schedule

 

36th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival Volunteers

Atlanta Jazz Festival

Volunteer Need: Volunteer "Jazzteers" needed for a variety of positions including but not limited to; Festival Greeters, Backstage Assistance, and Set-up/Breakdown. Volunteers also needed before the festival weekend for smaller events in April and May.
