On Sunday, the Hipster Gardener has planned a gathering at at Freedom Park to show solidarity with Newtown, Conn.
From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., residents are encouraged to “bring a sign, bring yourself, and bring a friend" to the intersection of Freedom Parkway and Moreland Avenue to demonstrate that our city cares for those who were so tragically affected by Friday’s mass killing at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
In the wake of the unimaginable tragedy, people from all over the world—in Connecticut, Georgia, Canada and much farther away in Australia and India—sent an outpouring of support and want to know how they can help.

Also on Sunday, every National Football League game, including the New York Giants-Atlanta Falcons contest from the Georgia Dome, will hold a moment of silence honoring the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
The Giants, New York Jets and New England Patriots will all wear special decals during their games this week in memory of those who lost their lives. On Saturday, the Giants tweeted a photo of the decal they will wear on their helmet when they face the Falcons at 1 p.m.
