Santa Claus is Coming to Springvale Park

Annual tradition in Inman Park brings Santa to the neighborhood Dec. 2 to help raise money for Springvale Park playground project.

Some know him as Santa; others as Father Christmas. (We called him Père Noël.)

Whatever you call him, the jolly old man in the red suit will be in Inman Park this weekend to help raise funds for the new playground project in Springvale Park.

Hosted by the Springvale Park Playground Committee, the second annual Santa in the Park is scheduled for Dec. 2, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Kids (big kids, too) and pets can take pictures with Santa.

Pictures will cost $15 per pose and all proceeds will go toward the new planned playground for Springvale Park.

The Inman Park community has held a series of fundraising efforts for the playground, with a goal $104,000 to cover the purchase of equipment and installation, slated for next year.

Park Pride, which recently awarded a $47,000 matching grant to the Springvale Park Playground Committee, has brought the fundraising total to just over $100,000.
