Paws Up for Dogtoberfest Fundraiser in the EAV

The inaugural Dogtoberfest fundraiser is collecting money for two local pet rescue groups, Lifeline Animal Project and Southern Animal Rescue.

EAST ATLANTA — Southeast Atlantans love their dogs and a good cause.

They get to do both with the inaugural Dogtoberfest fundraiser which aims to collect money for two local pet rescue groups, Lifeline Animal Project and Southern Animal Rescue.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 20 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market, 561 Flat Shoals Ave. SE.

The entry fee is $5 per dog for the fundraiser.

Among the highlights:
  • Dog costume contests ($5 per entry)
  • Food trucks
  • Pet-friendly vendors
  • Training tips
  • Doggie yoga
East Atlanta Patch spoke with Lauren Janis and Morieka V. Johnson, two of the event co-organizers, who shared the details regarding Dogtoberfest and the reasons behind its creation.
