Hondas Vandalized In Lake Claire

(Good reminder to keep valuables and other important papers out of sight or take them with you)

Two older Hondas' small, rear passenger side panel windows were broken into Friday night in Lake Claire. Both break-ins occurred in the 400 block of Leonardo Avenue between McClendon Avenue NE and Marlbrook Drive NE, according to a crime report on the Lake Claire neighborhood listserv.

In the first Honda, a white 1991 Accord, the vandal or vandals broke in, but appeared to have left the items in the car undisturbed.

But  in the second vehicle, a green 1997 Civic, the thieves took jumper cables and a tire inflation pump.

It seems the burglar or burglars had a penchant just for Japanese autos. A German automobile, a Volkswagon Beetle parked between the two Hondas, was left untouched, according to the report.
