Get Out: Weekend Planner

Blues, "Bites" and more await your weekend!

Where/When: 200 Peachtree, 200 Peachtree St., NW, Atlanta, Friday, September 9, starts at 6 p.m.

Why go: Benefitting the National Youth Advocate Program NYAP Georgia Division, this event features Groove Mouse, The Style and Natti Love Joys. A raffle will be held between the first two performing bands and will include gift cards and gift certificates from local merchants, restaurants and more.  Raffle tickets will be available the night of the event.

Why go: This workplace fitness program, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, began in 1983 with 900 participants from just a handful of companies and has grown to an annual event, attracting more than 15,000 strong, with participating from more than 350 companies. Come see what the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program is all about.

BE A CHAMP WITH YOUR HEALTH THIS WEEKEND

Where/When: Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd. NW,
Atlanta, Saturday, September 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why go: The C.H.A.M.P.S (Community Health and Men's Promotion Summit) health is geared towards raising awareness regarding disease prevention and early detection of the health issues as it pertains to men. Screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, HIV/AIDS, mental health and more will be available for men ages 18 and up.

ENJOY THE ATLANTA BLUES & INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

Where/When: Woodruff  Park, 51 Peachtree St., NE, Atlanta, Saturday & Sunday, September 10 & 11, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why go: Downtown Atlanta will be rocking with the 11th Atlanta Blues & International Music Festival. Paying tribute to Blues, R&B, Hip Hop, Gospel, Rock, Reggae, Latin, African and more, this event draws attendees from all over the world.

TAKE A “BITE” OUT OF YOUR EVENING

Where/When: Agatha's: A Taste of Mystery Dinner Theatre, 161 Peachtree Center Ave., NE, Atlanta, Friday, September 9, 8 p.m. (next show)

Why go: This show will run until November 2, so you have time to see this play and have all the fun that audience participation entails. “Next Bite at Twilight: The Saga Continues” tells a story, set in Spoon, Washington and involves  Bella and vampire Edward – to say the least
