LEARN MORE ABOUT ATLANTA’S OLDEST PARK

Why go: Authors Jennifer Good Cuthbertson and Philip M. Cuthbertson will present their new book, “Historic Grant Park.” Filled with images and stories about Atlanta’s oldest park and historic district, the evening promises to be interesting for those who love history and Atlanta.

FIND PEACE WITH A MANDALA DANCE

Where/When: East Lake Co-Housing Common House, 900 Dancing Fox Rd., Decatur, Saturday, June 25, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why go: Come to the culmination of an 11-week course of the sacred dance of the female Buddha, Tara. The Dalai Lama recognizes this dance as a bridge between the East and the West. Following this public offering of the Mandala Dance,  will be a Dance of Universal Peace to White Tara, who symbolizes long life and wisdom.

DO THE RIGHT THING

Where/When: 755 Club at Turner Field, 755 Hank Aaron Dr., Atlanta, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

ENJOY FLOWER HOUR IN THE HOOD WITH LIVE MUSIC AND MORE

Where/When: Garden*Hood, 353 Boulevard, SE, Atlanta, Friday, June 24, 6 p.m.

Why go: It is summertime – go enjoy a Flower Hour with live music by Wade in the Rhythm.  How can you lose with food and drinks served up by Stone Soup Kitchen. You can even take home the drink recipes and the plants used to make them if you like.  During Flower Hour, plants are 10% off.
