Food Trucks Coming to Ormewood Park

A portion of the proceeds will go toward the new Ormewood Community Playground.

ORMEWOOD PARK — Looking for a night out and simultaneously give to a good cause?

Food trucks are coming to Ormewood Park every Wednesday, beginning Feb. 5.

The food trucks will be at the Ormewood Park Presbyterian Church parking lot, 1071 Delaware Ave. SE from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward the new Ormewood Community Playground.

"We had a couple of food trucks come to a playground and church fundraiser in December. That effort put us in touch with an organizer who has access to about 50 trucks," Angela Easter, a spokeswoman for the playground project, said.

"They've been looking for a spot to hold a regular rally in southeast Atlanta, so we just happen to have that space and they can use it in return for helping us with the playground funding.

"I knew it would be popular, but I had no idea there would be this much interest this fast."

The participating vendors will be announced about 1 week in advance of each Wednesday on Twitter from the @noshnight handle.
