MON - Aug. 13: Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education Meeting, 130 Trinity Ave. SW (Atlanta Public Schools Center for Learning and Leadership). Committee of the Whole and Board Work Session, 2 p.m.;  Community Meeting, 6 p.m. and Legislative Meeting, 7 p.m.

- Miss EAV 2012 Beauty Pageant. Sorry Darlin and the host East Atlanta's answer to the convential beauty pageant at the Graveyard, 1245 Glenwood Ave. SE. Sarah Mincher will emcee the contest, which will feature six women vying for the crown in a 3-round competition. Performances by Cousin Dan and NNXT with DJ sets from Taradactyl and Rene Dellefont. The event is sponsored by Sorry Darlin, Eide Magazine, PBR and Absolute Vodka. Complimentary cocktails from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

TUES - Aug. 14: Atlanta Young Singers seeks boys and girls in grades 2 -12 of all musical levels for its 37th Performance Season.  Auditions will be held throughout August for each of seven AYS Choirs – including group auditions at rehearsal locations in Atlanta: Callanwolde, 980 Briarcliff Rd NE. Other audition locations include South DeKalb, North Atlanta (Chamblee/Dunwoody) and South Cobb. For more information call 404.873.3365.
