C4 Atlanta Holding Health and Wellness Art Exhibit

All metro Atlanta artists 18 years and older are encouraged to submit work for the exhibition.

Atlanta-based non-profit arts service organization, C4 Atlanta Inc. is holding an open call for artists for its Triage Art Exhibit 2014 project.

The exhibit's theme is art that explores health and wellness. Selected art works will be on exhibition at the Fuse Arts Center from Jan. 24 through Feb. 8, 2014.

The call for artists will remain open through January 5, 2014. Up to 20 artists will be selected for the exhibition. Participants at the closing event on Feb. 8 will have the opportunity to vote for the “Best in Show” piece. The selected artist will receive a $100 gift certificate to Binders Art Supplies.

“I am pleased to build new opportunities for Atlanta artists,” Deborah Sosower, C4 Atlanta's program manager said in a statement.

“My personal health over the years has affected both my artwork and my ability to create art. I am excited to help plan an event for local artists that will positively shape their professional development even as it impacts their physical well-being.”

Jurors for Triage include Louise Shaw, Stuart Shapiro, and Wyatt Williams.

A cultural activist for more than three decades, Shaw is currently the Curator of the David J. Sencer CDC Museum at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Williams is an award-winning writer and the Culture Editor of Creative Loafing, the alternative news weekly. Shapiro is the sales and social media manager for Binders Art Supplies, the oldest family-owned art business in Atlanta.

All metro Atlanta artists 18 years and older are encouraged to submit work for the exhibition. The application is free for C4 Atlanta members at http://c4atlanta.org/triage.

The cost for annual membership to C4 Atlanta is $40. The entry deadline to submit work is Jan. 5, 2014. Triage Art Exhibit 2014 will open at the Fuse Arts Center, Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at 6 p.m. and close with an event on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. The Fuse Arts Center is located at 115 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW, Suite 225 in Atlanta.
