Greetings everyone,

I am reaching out because we have a wonderful opportunity for our Gifted and Talented Students to expand their horizons and take a trip to Alabama to provide exposure to careers in Science, Mathematics, and Technology.

The attached sponsorship letter gives more detail about the trip. We have a total of 25 students from D.H. Stanton qualified to go, but need financial assistance. The cost per child is 110 .00 and so far we have 2 children paid for.

If you could please spread the word via, Facebook, emails, phone calls ect.. about this opportunity it would be greatly appreciated. Please see attached documents for further detail about the breakdown of cost and details of the trip.

I appreciate you all! We really need your help!

The gifted program at D.H. Stanton Elementary School and Benteen Elementary School will be traveling to Alabama on April 4th – 5th. The purpose of this trip is to extend units of study for 55 third through fifth grade students in the Gifted and Talent Development Program.

This trip will provide exposure to careers in Science, Mathematics, and Technology. Additionally, students will have meaningful hands on experiences in robotics. This trip will also promote college and career readiness.

On Friday, April 4, 2014 the students will have the opportunity to attend Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Tour, Tuskegee University Tour, George Washington Carver Museum and Oaks Home Tour. The students will stay at the Country In and Suites in Huntsville, Alabama and attend the United States Space and Rocket Center Ultimate Fieldtrip on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

The total cost of the trip is $5,553.90 in total and the price per child is $110.00. (See chart below.) The goal of this letter is to enlist your financial support. There are many opportunities for you to support this endeavor.

You and/or your company can sponsor or co-sponsor a student to attend this trip. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
