Atlanta Medical Center is pleased to announce that a new physician has joined its staff, augmenting its abilities to treat various neurological problems including: stroke, aneurysm, carotid artery stenosis and traumatic brain injury.
Bharath Naravetla, MD, is a neurointensivist and an interventional neurologist who joined Atlanta Medical Center on July 1. He has expertise in endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysm, AVM, AV fistulas, epistaxis and tumor embolization.
His research interests include the development of new and effective treatment strategies in the field of interventional neurology, as well as understanding the cerebral metabolism and pathophysiology of various life-threatening neurological emergencies. He also promotes the international outreach of advanced health care services through the telemedicine network.

Dr. Naravetla received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in India. He completed residency and is board certified in internal medicine and neurology. To further his training, he also completed a two year fellowship in neuro critical care and medical critical care at the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Naravetla then completed a two year fellowship in interventional neurology/endovascular neurosurgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Naravetla joins Mikayel Grigoryan, MD, a neurointerventionalist who is board certified in neurology. Dr. Grigoryan has clinical and research experience in vascular and interventional neurology, neurocritical care and neuroimaging. Before joining Atlanta Medical Center last year, Dr. Grigoryan completed fellowships in endovascular surgical neuroradiology at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, and in stroke/neurocritical care at Stanford University.
