Frozen Pints Creates New Strawberry Sofie Craft Beer Ice Cream Flavor

Just in time for spring, Atlanta-based Frozen Pints has joined forces with Chicago’s Goose Island Brewery to release “Strawberry Sofie” craft beer ice cream throughout Georgia as part of its Limited Release series. Following its successful partnership with Terrapin Brewing Company this winter, Frozen Pints’ second limited release marks its first collaboration flavor with a brewery located in another state and its first use of a farmhouse ale. Featuring one of Goose Island’s Vintage Ales, Sofie – a tart, dry, sparking Belgian farmhouse ale fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels, Frozen Pints’ latest offering complements the beer’s citrusy, tart notes with hints of strawberry. Promising a subtle and light flavor that finishes like champagne - slightly sweet, yet clean and bright, Frozen Pints’ Strawberry Sofie will be available beginning in mid-March 2014. “I enjoy all kinds of different beers, but Sofie is a personal favorite of mine,” says Frozen Pints co-founder Ari Fleischer. “The wine and citrus notes are a match for lighter, fruity flavors, and nothing says spring like Strawberry.”

Launching in June of 2012, Frozen Pints craft beer ice cream, the first product to market of its kind, can be found in more than 130 retail spots and restaurants in metro Atlanta, Macon, Peachtree City, Suwanee, Kennesaw, Woodstock and Athens, Georgia. Single serving sizes are now available at the Georgia Dome and select Taco Mac Restaurants. Using the finest craft beers and freshest local ingredients, Frozen Pints produces five distinct flavors out of Atlanta, Georgia: Peach Lambic, Honey IPA, Brown Ale Chip, Malted Milk Chocolate Stout, and Vanilla Bock and offers specialty and seasonal and limited edition flavors throughout the year. Look for Frozen Pints branded ice cream carts at events, festivals and venues across Georgia. Single-serve portions that come with a built-in spoon are also available for events and licensed venues to order.
