Dr. Dell Bryd Continues Crusade for Quality Education for All APS Students

Dr. Dell Byrd, a resident of southeast Atlanta, has fully committed a life of professional preparation, experience and parenting to the cause of raising the achievement level for all students in the Atlanta Public school system.  A former Fulton County School educator and former APS parent, Byrd has moved with passion and tenacity over recent months in an effort to garner the opportunity to bring about and oversee needed change.

Involvement and activism has become a part of Byrd’s legacy as her mother became her strongest advocate years ago in an effort to secure educational opportunities for her daughter.  In like fashion, Dr. Byrd accepted the mantle as she carefully monitored the education of her own daughter, now a budding Atlanta-based actress and dramatist.

Having successfully educated her own child, Byrd hardly feels that her job and commitment to young people is complete.  Instead, it is her goal to bring a platform of CARE—Commitment, Attention, Responsibility and Enthusiasm to the table on the Atlanta School Board, representing District 6.  She has extensive experience in curriculum development and implementation and hopes to capitalize upon every facet of her academic preparation to help the children of Atlanta’s schools.
