Cheer on Local Nonprofits in Your Neighborhood During the Atlanta Marathon

Participants of the Atlanta Marathon will be making their way through East Atlanta on Sunday, October 27. Your support could help nonprofit organizations receive additional funds to improve health and fitness in Atlanta!
As part of the event, Atlanta Track Club selected 25 metro Atlanta nonprofit organizations to participate in its Adopt a Marathon Mile program. The organizations will “adopt” a mile along the course and provide volunteers, signage and other support to participants. Atlanta Track Club will donate between $3,500 and $7,500 to each group, depending on the level of assistance and participation. The organizations that have adopted a mile in East Atlanta include the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Historic Oakland Foundation, Center for the Visually Impaired, L.E.A.D., Centennial Place School Foundation and Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta.
So how can you help? Come out and cheer on the participants of the Atlanta Marathon! The event begins at 7:00 a.m. You can learn more at atlantamarathon.org/event-info/adopt-a-mile. To learn more about volunteer opportunities for the Atlanta Marathon or road closures, visit atlantatrackclub.org.
