A Celebration in Pink…Comedy for the Cure

Atlanta (OCT 18, 2013) - Each October, millions across the United States celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month through celebrations, dinners, concerts and more. Except for skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S. This year, Urban Light Productions (U.L.P.) has a unique way of celebrating breast cancer awareness and survivors through laughter, comedy and music. Studies have shown that laughter has a profound positive impact on both our physical and mental well-being. Comedian and Actor Rodney Perry (from the Monique Show) will be the featured comedian at the Celebration in Pink Breast Cancer Benefit on October 24, 2013 at the Castleberry Lofts in Atlanta, Georgia from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. "A Celebration in Pink breast cancer fundraiser is a bittersweet event for me. I love the fact that we honor survivors, bring awareness and raise money. However I am praying for a day for a cure whereas we won't have to," said Chief Executive Officer and Founder Juanita Vinson aka Urban Light.

This event is personal as the visionary and founder Juanita Vinson has loss several immediate family members to breast cancer. There is an incredible lineup of comedians such as Lady Q MakeUsLaugh, Nikita B. Williams and special celebrity guest, Stevie Baggs, Jr. The celebration will have a live music and a silent auction to add to the evening. Every year U.L.P. is committed to giving back to the community since 2008. Vinson says, "I am overflowing with anticipation about A Celebration in Pink breast cancer fundraiser and I can't wait until October 24th! Each year we raise money for a cure, bring awareness and celebrate life of survivors. I love seeing the smiles on their faces that alone is worth the work." A percentage of proceeds will go to The American Cancer Society.  Visit http://laughhope.eventbrite.com/  for more information.
