Eating Out in East Atlanta Village

Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Airport Hotel (North) highlights eateries in East Atlanta Village. This hip neighborhood offers a number of eclectic dining choices.

East Atlanta Village is a vibrant, hip neighborhood three miles east of downtown Atlanta.  The area has a diverse population, and its business district offers an eclectic mix of shops, bars, and restaurants.  A local farmers market draws people to the neighborhood on Thursdays from April-November.  East Atlanta Village hosts the annual East Atlanta Strut, a popular street festival, each September.  Here are some local eateries to try when visiting the village.

Flatiron is located in the heart of East Atlanta Village, at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Flat Shoals Avenue SE.  The bar and eatery occupies the ground floor of an historic 1911 former bank building.  Flatiron is a local favorite for great bar food, and boasts the best beer and spirit selection in the village.  The menu features salads, sandwiches, burgers, wings, and nachos.

Glenwood Neighborhood Pub, at 1263 Glenwood Avenue, serves upscale pub fare.  Jamaican born executive chef Ian Grant adds a Caribbean flair to many of his dishes, and uses food sourced from local farmers.  Menu favorites include NY strip, bourbon-glazed salmon, vegetable lasagna, Creole pasta, and grilled pork chops with molasses butter glaze.  The menu also offers burgers and sandwiches.  The 2nd story patio is a great place to enjoy a drink.  Glenwood Neighborhood Pub has a full bar.

Spoon Eastside serves classic Thai entrees in a comfortable atmosphere.  The menu features Pad Thai, Panang, Massamun curry, and spicy mixed seafood.  Vegetarian entrees are available.  Spoon Eastside is located at 749 Moreland Avenue and is closed on Mondays.

So Ba, at 560 Gresham Avenue SE, is a Vietnamese noodle house.  Specialties include Pho, Com, and Bun dishes.  The restaurant is very casual, but serves up authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

The Shed at Glenwood serves a contemporary American menu featuring sliders, grilled Angus burgers, small plates, and larger entrees.  Some of Chef Todd Richards’ specialties include spicy beef brisket, NY strip, and smoked pork chops.  The Shed has a full bar.  Sunday brunch is served from 10am-3pm.  The restaurant is closed on Mondays.  The Shed at Glenwood is located at 475 Bill Kennedy Way SE.
