The $90 million project, which is expected to go into service next year, will create a rail route that links Old Fourth Ward to Centennial Olympic Park Downtown. The eventual hope, from a long-term perspective, is to create a north-south route from the Brookhaven MARTA station to Fort McPherson, in addition to the east-west line, according to Central Atlanta Progress.
The initial funding for the project focused on the Downtown east-west route.
Immovable Media took a video of the east-west line for a virtual ride of what it will be like when it comes to fruition.
When built and functional do you think it will prove to be popular with metro Atlantans as well as tourists?
