The Magic of Chocolate Making: Learn, Taste , and Take Home Chocolate!

$40 Garden Member, $45 Non-Member

Great Valentines present! Get the dish on the real health properties of chocolate. During this tasty class Chef Victoria Moon will take you on a journey through the fascinating history of chocolate, that begins with the Ancient Aztecs and Mayans who were the first to harvest the “cacão bean” (the pure form of chocolate) over 3,000 years ago. Learn what to look for when sourcing your chocolate and how to find responsibly harvested, high quality products. Participants will be guided through the proper way to prepare chocolate to unleash its powerful, medicinal properties. Individuals and couples welcome and can take home a small portion of chocolate. Couples- register as an individual and leave a note in comment area. Couples are $50 for members and $55 non members and can pay difference at the class. 5 minimum. Advanced registration required.

Established in 1997, The Oakhurst Community Garden of the Wylde Center offers a wide range of classes, programs and special events for individuals, families and youth on such topics as organic gardening, sustainable urban living, nutrition and health. Its popular youth program is one of the metro-area’s largest and offers year-round educational programs. The two on-site gardens serve as gathering spaces, wildlife habitats and demonstration gardens. To get involved, be sure to sign up for a class or become a volunteer or a member.
