Lets Bake Sourdough! : Selecting and Fermenting Nourishing Grains

$30 Garden Member, $35 Non-Member

Do you wish to have a positive relationship with grains? Join Javon Mckinney owner and chef for intimatefoodaffair.com in a workshop on how to choose nourishing grains and how to prepare them in the most basic kitchen set-up. We’ll ferment and bake sourdough together and Lindsay will share knowledge on the importance of traditional fermentation processes. Please bring a bag or container to take bread home with you! 5 person minimum. Advanced registration required.

Established in 1997, The Oakhurst Community Garden of the Wylde Center offers a wide range of classes, programs and special events for individuals, families and youth on such topics as organic gardening, sustainable urban living, nutrition and health. Its popular youth program is one of the metro-area’s largest and offers year-round educational programs. The two on-site gardens serve as gathering spaces, wildlife habitats and demonstration gardens. To get involved, be sure to sign up for a class or become a volunteer or a member.
