DeShawn Snow, author of the Lil Shawnee children's series and former cast member of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, will sign copies of her book. Coan Middle School PTSA will receive a portion of the book sales of DeShawn Snow's books purchased at this event from Bound to be Read Books.
Snow admits that her Lil Shawnee series of easy reading books for tween girls is based on her own trials and self-esteem issues growing up. As a result, the Lil Shawnee book series provides empowering and encouraging messages perfect for tween girls in grades three to six.

Bound to Be Read Books was opened in 2005 after Atlanta resident Jeff McCord realized there were no independent bookstores serving southeast Atlanta. His bookstore now has an impressive array of new and used books, discount books, CDs, calendars and gifts. It also carries a selection of rare and collectible books and staff will search for and special order any titles not currently in its inventory. The store is working on a used book buy-back program, as well as a "loyal customer" incentive program. Stop in to browse the shelves and say hi to Kona, the resident bookstore cat.
