Coan Middle 6th Grade Orientation

A parent orientation will be on June 26 from 8:00am to 10:00am.  Dr. Brockman, principal, will meet with parents from 9:00am to 10:30am.  Students only will attend the remaining days of orientation.

The orientation will provide students an opportunity to learn skills and strategies to become successful in middle school, student expectations, how to navigate the middle school schedule, how to organize materials, how to seek assistance when needed, strategies for getting along with peers and adults and even how to open a locker.  Middle school teachers will lead the orientation.  

Students will be provided breakfast and lunch, the list of required materials for 6th grade, and information about how to become involved in summer camp experiences at Emory University and other community organizations.  The students will attend a field trip to Emory University on Thursday June 28 and will participate in team building exercises on Friday June 29.
