 n Schmalz for a 2-hour workshop on improving your birding skills. This c
 lass is a must for any new birder who feels somewhat overwhelmed by the 
 birding skills of other more advanced birders.\nBecoming a Better Birder
  covers aspects of birding that a novice birder usually needs to learn b
 y experience in the field and often does not. Time will be spent learnin
 g good techniques of birding in the field and choosing good optics\, boo
 ks and sound devices. Not only will participants develop key identificat
 ion skills under Georgann&rsquo\;s expert guidance\, they will also expe
 rience the satisfaction that better birding can yield.\nGeorgann holds a
  master&rsquo\;s degree in ornithology\, taught at Fernbank Science Cent
 er for 29 years\, and is three-time past president of AAS. She is a weal
 th of information and entertainment!\nThis workshop will be held on Satu
 rday\, January 12\, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Atlanta Audubon Societ
 y&nbsp\;office located at 4055 Roswell Road in Atlanta. The cost is $40 
 AAS members and $45 for non-members.\nThe number of participants will be
