DESCRIPTION:Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company is proud to present 
 the&nbsp\;Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition&nbsp\;for Atlanta a
 rea&nbsp\;high school students.\nThe Atlanta finals are on&nbsp\;Februar
 y 25\, 2013 at 7 PM&nbsp\;at the&nbsp\;Southwest Arts Center.\nThe top t
 hree winners of the Atlanta finals will be awarded scholarships and the 
 opportunity to compete against winners from other participating states i
 n the&nbsp\;National Finals on Broadway&nbsp\;at the&nbsp\;August Wilson
  Theatre on May 6\, 2013. The local and national finals are free and ope
 n to the public.\nAs part of the competition\, students are asked to per
 form a 2-3 minute monologue of their choosing from one of the ten plays 
 in August Wilson's Century Cycle. The selection should be dialogue taken
  from one character within a scene that includes a point-of-entry into t
 he character and a personal connection to the selected material.\nContes
 tants will be judged by a panel of Atlanta theatre and media professiona
 ls on the basis of preparedness\, understanding of the text\, emotional 
 connection to the material\, and commitment to the performance.\nPast ju
 dges have included V103's Frank Ski and Wanda Smith\, WABE's Lois Reitze
 s\, actor Jasmine Guy\, CNN anchor Holly Firfer and NBA All-star Joe Bar
