Woman Carjacked at Gunpoint in Enso Apartments Parking Garage
Masked gunmen attack in mid-afternoon.
Atlanta police say a woman was carjacked Aug. 28 in the parking garage of the Enso apartment complex at 880 Glenwood Ave. in Grant Park.
The victim, 30, told police she was on the fourth floor of the parking garage just before 3:40 p.m. when a black Volkswagen Jetta suddenly pulled up alongside her.
Two men, one of whom brandished a silver handgun, demanded her purse and car keys.
Both men wore dark-colored bandannas around their faces.
After giving them her purse and keys, one jumped into her vehicle, a 2011, black Jeep Cherokee with the license plate No. AZS-1229.
The other took off in the Volkswagen, which had been reported stolen in a seperate carjacking incident, police said.
While leaving the garage, the Volkswagen hit a yellow pole, damaging the vehicle's passanger side, police said.
Enso management did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment.

I bet that won't make it into the ENSO marketing materials.

I am a resident and did not know of the incident until Managmeent sent me an email. Crime happens, I am sure that most companies do not update their marketing materials everytime a crime happens.

Crime happens... but it's the 3rd incident in 2 days. A jogger was attacked and another woman was robbed at gunpoint Monday in Grant park.

And still crime happens...3rd incident in 2 days means that Grant Park residents should pay more attention to their personal security.

Not surprising, apartments always bring a certain level of crime to any neighborhood. The transient nature of apartment living means you never really know all your neighbors. Because of this you don't really pay as much attention as someone who lives in a neighborhood. You may not know all your neighbors by name but usually know their face or vehicle. Just my two cents.

Enso apts really need to beef up their security. We pay to much to live here and not have security 24-7. There are too many people hanging around downstairs all the time. Then u see security come around 9, once a week. Do we have police living here. We need courtesy officers

I would bet this was from someone tailgating into the apartment. We had this problem in Inman Park and I started calling security when it happened to me and from that they caught a group of guys breaking into cars.
Sdg, we all live in apartments some time in our life. And the way the economy is gping rent living is the way to go. Guess you are not with the times.

Snoogle - crime happens but it continues to happen when criminals know you're an easy target. The members of these communities will need to be very proactive in order to deter future occurences.
Chris - statistically, Sdg is on point. The transient nature of apartment communities lends itself to higher instances of crime. And while it may be unrealistic for everyone to be a homeowner and the economy is still struggling, home values and interest rates are so low, you stand a good chance of paying less on a mortgage than you would renting in a complex like Enso.

Good point sdg. Apartments do cause negative issues on various levels. And in our neighborhoods developers want to keep building these adding to the crime, traffic, community value , home value, etc. the BeltLine is attracting the corporate criminals ,,which will give way to these problems and our quaint little neighborhoods will not be so attractive to the existing community. Be aware of your surroundings as well, corporate plans for your surroundings.
