D.H. Stanton's Damian Roland had no fear of the mic and using his voice to advocate against the closure of his school. These days, he's still using the mic as student broadcaster.

During the contentious Atlanta Public Schools redstricting, lots of people from all over the city raised their voices to give their perspective and advocate for their schools.

One of those voices was a then-rising fourth grader Damian Roland who attends D.H. Stanton Elementary School in Peoplestown.

He made two impassioned pleas with school board officials to keep his school open during the redistricting debate.

These days, Roland, who is now a fourth grader, is still using voice and power of pint-sized persuasion as a commentator and newscaster for the goings on at D.H. Stanton.

Check him out in action.
