The Grant Park Neighborhood Association and owner of this home on Boulevard is seeking information on the identity of the man seen here on surveillance camera stealing a package from the homeowner's porch.

The Grant Park Neighborhood Association wants the public's help in identifying the man seen in these photographs taken from surveillance cameras of this home on Boulevard.

The homeowner says the man in the pictures was not authorized to take the package from the porch.

In general, if you're expecting a package particularly if you live on a busy street like Boulevard, McLendon or Flat Shoals avenues, it's a good idea to make sure that someone is home to receive it.

The post office will attempt to deliver a package and leave a note asking if on the next attempt you'd like to carrier to leave it or if you wish to pick it up at the postal station.

It may be a hassle, but if it's something important or valuable, you probably should instruct the mail carrier that you'll retrieve your package at the station.

UPS and FedEx will leave packages with a designated recipient, such as a neighbor, but you must make arrangements beforehand.

It's doubly important to take precaution because the packing slip could contain information like a credit card number and other personal data that a thief can use in fraudulent purchases or identity theft.

You may find additional safety tips from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service here.

It's creepy knowing people like that are so close to your home, and on your property.

Packages are appealing targets when the merchant name is printed on the parcel: Zappos, Amazon, etc

Who taught him to take any packages he sees regardless of who it belongs to? Was it his parents? If so, then they must be proud of him!

I'm suprised he didn't walk off with a chair, also! That way he can sit in the rocking chair while he tries on his new Zappos!
