Vandals Attack Police Mini-Precinct In Little Five Points

Suspects, who threw bricks through the windows, wore all black and masks.

Atlanta police are looking for a group of vandals who threw bricks through several windows of the Zone 6 mini-precinct in Little Five Points early Thursday.

Police were responding to a call about shots being fired near Moreland and Euclid avenues just before 4 a.m.

But when they arrived, they discovered the noise stemmed from several windowpanes being shattered at the mini-precinct at 1166 Euclid.

The mini-precinct is not staffed 24 hours.

There were few people milling about, a handful of witnesses told police they saw a group of white and black suspects — all dressed in black and wearing masks — throw the bricks through the windows.

The vandals then fled by crossing Moreland Avenue and heading east on Euclid Avenue and into the Candler Park neighborhood.

Anyone with information is urged to telephone Zone 6 at 404.371.5002 or Atlanta Crimestoppers at 404.577.TIPS (8477).

Please tell me the mini precinct has surveillance cameras that caught the miscreant's melee?

This makes me less than confident in the effectiveness of those mini-precincts.

Well, to be fair, RD: It's not staffed 24/7.
