His accomplice, also black, is described as 6 feet tall, sporting a potbelly with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and jeans.

There seems to be a lot of robberies right around this intersection the past couple of years. Probably picking off the drunks coming out of North Highland Pub.

One problem with Inman Park that makes it dangerous at night is the lack of proper lighting on many of the streets. Add that and all the tree cover and it makes for a perfect hiding place for robbers. And for the fact that there are always people walking around late at night from bars and restaurants it makes the area perfect for crimes like these.

Hey, Chris: I think it's more a case of opportunity than Inman Park being more prone to crime. I do agree that people need to be more proactive when heading to their cars (like not being oblivious by texting or walking like they're taking a Sunday stroll or not having car keys in hand (or locking their doors once in their vehicles). But I go to IP all the time and leave the restaurants late at night or from the Variety to see musical acts. I always see the IP Security Patrol or regular on-duty APD driving around..

I by no means think Inman Park is dangerous. I lived there for 4 years and still frequent the bars and restaurants once or twice a week. I too would leave these places late a night and walk home. I was just saying how dark many of the streets are which can make it easier for robberies. With this and the amount of late night foot traffic makes it irresistable for crocks. I do agree that most people make themselves easy targets by not being aware of their surroundings. However, Inman Park on average does have more robberies than say the Highlands which also has a lot of late night foot traffic. Not sure why that is the case.
