Thirty-two high school students recently completed a 10-month leadership development program from Youth Leadership DeKalb.

This group of diverse sophomore and junior students from 15 public and private high schools in DeKalb County and metro-Atlanta area learned about DeKalb County issues and developed an understanding of what it means to be a young leader.

Among the Youth Leadership DeKalb's Class of 2012 was southeast Atlanta's own Naim Fareed of W.D. Mohammed High School.

Founded more than 20 years ago, Youth Leadership DeKalb aims to teach local youngsters about personal leadership and servitude to the community during an annual 10-month program.
