Ruling Expected Soon in 280 Elizabeth St. Project

Group of Inman Park homeowners sought judicial review.

A Fulton County Superior Court judge is expected issue a ruling this week regarding a planned development in Inman Park.

Judge Kimberly M. Esmond Adams heard arguments last month regarding the 280 Elizabeth St. project. A county spokeswoman said Monday Esmond Adams' decision is to be filed this week.

A number of Inman Park residents went to court seeking a judicial review of the process that ultimately approved the $45 million mixed-use development.

Their core argument is that the Atlanta Urban Design Commission acted beyond the scope of its discretionary powers when it granted variances to the project's developer in August of last year.

The project calls for the construction of 204 rental units, a swimming pool, between 38,000 and 39,000 square feet of retail and a 570-space parking deck.
