Readers' Choice: Which Is The Best Florist Shop?
When you want to say "I care" with flowers, who helps you say it best?
In the famous balcony scene, Juliet Capulet, the doomed-love heroine of Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet," muses on words and the meanings assigned to them.
"What’s in a name," she queries aloud. "That which we call a rose/By any other name would smell as sweet..."
The same can't necessarily be said of florists when it comes to helping you show your love or strong like of someone.
We know one recent case of an East Atlanta man who ordered a bouquet of flowers for his beloved, telling the florist shop not to include certain varieties because she was severely allergic.
Alas, they did just the opposite and her father found her unconscious on the floor from anaphylactic shock. (She's better now.)
Still, we know of cases where florists knew just which arrangement of flowers could help a tongue-tied lover say, "I love you."
So this week, with spring all abloom around us, we ask which of our local florists have you smelling like a rose on those special occasions:
- Gitche Yah Yah, 1963 Hosea L. Williams Dr. SE
- East Atlanta Florist, 471 Flat Shoals Ave. SE
- Fluff & 'Em Florist, 500 Flat Shoals Ave. SE
- Adaptation Floral Design, 361 North Highland Ave. NE
