The intersection of Moreland and Glenwood avenues can be a challenge for motorists and pedestrians alike.

It seems to be a case study in how not to design an intersection:

• There are turn lanes onto Glenwood from Moreland in both directions, but only the southbound turn lane on Moreland has a dedicated green arrow. Motorists driving north on Moreland and wanting to make a right on Glenwood have to floor it to beat oncoming traffic or wait through a couple changes of light during rush hour.
• There's "no-turn-on-red" signs onto Moreland from Glenwood in both directions, but motorists routinely ignore them.
• Sensors under the street trigger the traffic signal that controls the motor vehicle flow headed east on Glenwood. But too often they don't work properly and you see frustrated motorists run the light to cross Moreland, cut through the parking lots on either side or back up a little in an attempt to trigger the sensors.
• If you're a pedestrian trying to walk across Moreland, you better trot because there's not a lot of time given to cross and while pedestrians usually have the right of way in crosswalks, a good number of Atlanta motorists don't seem to care about that law.
• The intersection is not a perfect "t" with Glenwood doglegging at Moreland.
