Politically speaking, Georgia is a red state. But the neighborhoods that comprise East Atlanta Patch are decidedly blue.

The ZIP codes that cover most of East Atlanta Patch — 30307, 30308, 30312, 30315, 30316, 30317 — have donated more to the election campaign of President Barack Obama, dwarfing, that given to Gov. Mitt Romney

half a million dollars to President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney, according to the Federal Election Commission.

In the 30316 Zip code, which includes the Reynoldstown, East Atlanta, Gresham Park and Ormewood Park neighborhoods, Obama raised $48,526.67 since April 2011, compared with $700 raised by the Romney campaign.

That's a little more than $69 raised by Obama for every $1 raised by Romney.

It was the same in the 30307 Zip code, which includes Inman Park, Candler Park and Lake Claire.

In that Zip, Obama raised $144,573.65 since April 2011.

Romney in comparison, raised $4,850.50.

Put another way, the Obama campaign raised more than $29 for every $1 the Romney campaign collected.

Obama has the lead in contributions made by people who donated $1,000 or more in a single payment, the data show.
