This tandem bike is missing a crucial instrument: a set of handlebars for the accompanying rider.

Spend any time in East Atlanta and you'll notice some curious sights — which, after a while, don't seem so strange after all.

Even so, this scene caught the eye of East Atlanta resident Nick Hollomon, who snapped the picture.

The rider is cycling on a tandem bike, which is designed for two to pedal.

Problem is, the second seat has no handlebars, which left him wondering just how or what a second rider would hold on to for support or balance.
